At Sovereign Man, our goal is to bring you solutions and opportunities that make sense.
Some of these solutions are quite well known. Puerto Rico's tax incentives, for example, we cover often as these can benefit many of our readers.
Other opportunities are much less mainstream, and only a handful of people can take advantage of them. Yet, for the right person, these can be real no-brainers.
The opportunity that we uncover here today is of the latter category.
The little-known agreement between Spain and Guatemala signed in 1961 allows anyone born in Guatemala (or with at least one Guatemalan parent) to move to Spain and request Spanish citizenship almost immediately.
Europe is a very desirable place in which to obtain a second citizenship, so the generosity of this agreement is truly amazing.
As usual, there are a few caveats -- you must be Guatemalan by birth (not naturalized later in life), you need to establish legal residency in Spain to be able to do it, and you need to plan to spend approximately a year in Europe to complete the process. (We cover all of the necessary details in the report.)
And don't rush to discard this Alert if you have no connections to Guatemala whatsoever.
You can still do something about it: Have a baby in Guatemala. If you go this route, you will not benefit from the agreement directly, but by becoming a Guatemalan at birth, your child will.
(In today’s report we cover details of giving birth in Guatemala, too.)
And remember -- such international agreements work both ways. If you were born to Spanish parents, you can benefit from the agreement the same way, and become a dual Spanish-Guatemalan citizen in no time as well.
Review all the details in today’s comprehensive SMC Alert.
