As you ease into the end of the year, we thought we’d leave you with some thoughts about the beaten path.
The beaten path -- the one everyone follows -- is well trod because it’s right for a lot of people. New York, until recently, simply made sense for millions of people, and for decades. Now, some of those people are finding that Florida is a better fit -- better weather, lower taxes, and no Comrades in charge.
There’s nothing wrong with the beaten path… until it doesn’t work for you anymore.
If this year has taught us anything, it’s that what’s right for me may not be right for you. Some people really like masks, anti-social distancing, and ordering everything online. Others feel like housecats and would prefer a less ‘safe’ but richer life.
Our friend Tim Staermose -- Sovereign Man’s Chief Investment Officer -- recently ditched the beaten path. He left Bali, a haven for digital nomads and tourists alike… for Tanzania.
We found his story so interesting, and his argument so compelling, that we felt moved to create a case study around it. Granted, Tanzania is NOT for everyone. But it’s perfect for Tim.
Our hope is that regardless of whether you ever even visit Africa, this piece might help you figure out what your personalized path looks like.
